The camera is only one part of QC
A camera quality control system needs controlled lighting, repeatable part position, a trigger, pass/fail rules, and a reject or warning path. The best systems are boring in operation: every part is checked the same way, every failure is recorded, and operators understand the screen.
Common production checks
Good candidates include missing part detection, wrong part detection, screw and clip presence, socket orientation, label position, printed text verification, color checks, surface scratches, holes, burrs, gaps, and final assembly confirmation.
Why embedded hardware matters
ESP32-class controllers, relays, digital inputs, embedded Linux, and Jetson-class AI devices let the inspection station communicate with conveyors, lights, alarms, operator panels, and factory systems without turning every project into a large enterprise software build.
